Matilda is a physical theatre artist, choreographer and teacher, with a 3 year physical theatre university degree from Dellarte International school of physical theatre, California, USA. She has a 8 year working experience in the field of physical theatre, performing arts and teaching, both in Finland and abroad. Her mothertongue is swedish and she is fluent in both finnish and english.
She was born in the archipelago of Kemiö, an island in the south of Finland, raised in the world of nature, playful and simple countryside life. She grew up with passion for the arts, in drawing, in music, and in theatre. Most of all passion for movement. Everything she creates begins from the physical body and she believes in "less is more" concept when making theatre.
To uphold her own physical health as well as her greatest tool in creativity, she trains in both floor acrobatics, contemporary dance and any other free form of movement (including fighting monkey practice, alexander technique etc).

Physical Theatre & Performance work
Leading and performing, together with german choreographer and dancer Stephanie Felber, the project Traceurs Drift: The City as Stage at Oulu2026 Culture Programme. The project will be a one week intensive with performances for the public in the outdoor spaces of Oulu city.
